Armed Guard

The Department of Armed Guard is where all of the general logistics and grunt work take place. Nearly all front to backline units of any VRDF conflict contains them, whether that be infantry, general armored vehicles, or large fleet ships for head on galactic combat. The bulk of the D.A.G. are put under the 'Main Defense Force' classification. In practice, they serve as the VRDF's reserve forces for emergency situations, such as hands on combat, timely transportation of important individuals and objects, or search and rescue.

Special forces regiments are separate from the M.D.F., instead under the Elite Special Operations Division — which operates much like any other covert troop unit. Infiltration, false flag operations, assassinations — you'll seldom find them any where that's not behind enemy lines. They get the most action compared to any other D.A.G. units — though it is rather common practice for the E.S.O.D. to pluck armored support units for their purposes; yes, that includes the crew as well.

One particularly infamous unit is the Special Logistics Assault Group, colloquially referred to as the 'Spades', due to their logo consisting of one. Unlike other E.S.O.D. units, S.L.A.G. requires for new recruits to have formerly been M.D.F. or lower with extensive experience before joining. They are famous for their strangely high survival and kill rates, as well as their casual, laid back attitudes; comparatively most of the E.S.O.D. take themselves rather seriously. S.L.A.G. can also be found assisting the Department of Clandestine Intervention quite often, but they very selectively choose their missions due to the D.C.I.'s nature.
